Dr. Sharafali Y.
Sharafali Y. Diwan, MD, earned his medical degree from Dow Medical College at Dow University of Health Sciences in Karachi, Pakistan. He then moved to the United States and completed an internship in family medicine at University of Minnesota Health hospitals and clinics in Minneapolis. Dr. Diwan went on to complete residency training in internal medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison. He then moved to Houston and received specialized training in infectious diseases at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth and The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Board certified in infectious diseases by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), Dr. Diwan treats patients ages 10 and older for cellulitis, Hepatitis C (Hep C), HIV/AIDS (immunodeficiency virus/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome), pneumonia, post travel infections, osteomyelitis (bone infection), spider bites, tuberculosis (TB, consumption) and wound care. He does not treat patients for parasites or Lyme disease (borreliosis).
As a resident of Northwest Houston, Dr. Diwan cares for patients living in Cypress, Houston, Hufsmith, North Houston, Spring and Tomball.
He is a member of the Harris County Medical Society (HCMS).
